ABOUT US

Who am I?

Philosophy of Counseling

I adhere to a progressivist approach, including but not limited to individuality, progress, and change, which are fundamental to one's healing. I believe that people learn best from what they consider most relevant to their lives, including their experiences, interests, and abilities. I want people to see that I:

  • Focus on the client.

  • Focus on peers.

  • Promote an emphasis on growth.

  • Prefer to be action-centered.

  • Help with the process and change.

Objective

To help individuals achieve their goals through dedication and the belief that they will be able to live and grow in an atmosphere of clarity, mindfulness, and knowledge.

Now, I take some of what Walt Disney has to say with a grain of salt because times have definitely changed since his initial influence, and disclaimers are generally proposed after a phrase such as "kick in the teeth." When we think of the word "Disney" there are most likely many people here who associate it with wishing upon a star or thinking about dreams that can come true. I think that Walt Disney had a theory that happiness can cure many difficult thoughts that children tend to experience. Several years ago, research was conducted on the ways that children negotiate peer relationships. Children are inventive and resourceful social participants in the preservation (reproduction), interpretation, and formation of their social world as they actively interpret the social world by constructing the meaning of social messages.
